Architecture:
Aspect's
LossPREVENTION system is implemented in an open-systems,
scaleable client-server architecture. The client provides
user access and program intelligence, the server acquires
and stores the information. The client is Microsoft
Windows-based (Windows is the dominant commercial user
interface operating environment); the server can be
a UNIX or Windows NT-based system (uni- or multiprocessor),
or an IBM mainframe or mini. The main requirement for
the host is the availability of a supported relational
database (RDBMS).
Data
is held in an Industry Standard Relational Database:
IBM DB/2
ORACLE System 7
INFORMIX
Microsoft SQL Server
Sybase
Other databases supporting SQL and ODBC queries/interfaces.
The
database is resident on a server:
IBM Mainframe
IBM AS/400
IBM RS6000
Sun
Intel
HP
Between
the server and its clients is an industry standard LAN
Ethernet
Token Ring
Each
client is a Windows PC (Win 95 / Win NT/2000 Workstation)
